Week 31 at School

This week, apart from finishing off contracts for uniforms, we were preparing for St Jude's Day and starting the selection process for pre-school and Standard 1 (first year of primary school).

Although still 5 months away, our time here is coming to an end.  Advertising for the Purchasing role has started and I am starting to put in place documentation for when I leave.  I know the end will come sooner than I want, but unless I win the lottery or I find a way to ski without money, we are coming home to Oz in March.

Last Saturday Denise was involved in a new selection process for pre-school and Standard 1 students.  The pre-school is new to St Jude's, so we will have even younger children at the school from next year.  What impressed me was that they were marching in to the school and at pre-school age, they were all in step.  I couldn't imagine that in Australia.  It is hard enough for those who should be able to march in step to get it right.

For the last few months I have been working on school uniforms and getting basic contracts in place.  The most challenging part has been to get what they want in writing.  I have decided, the process for next will begin much sooner to allow time to get things right.

Friday we celebrated St Jude's Day, so it was a day off work while we celebrated.  It was held at Smith Campus and as there were more people to move than bus seats, I drove Small Red, my shopping bus out.  On the way back it was like driving a dalla dalla (small commercial bus).  I have no idea how many squeezed in, but I didn't mind.  It still made it up the hills and we all made it back to Moshono.

Until next time.
