Finally Wrap Up

I thought I would write one final chapter due to the number of requests I have received to find out what now.

Week 51 at School - FAREWELL!!!

Well our time here has come to an end.  Thanks to everybody for their encouragement and support and please continue to support St Jude's.

Week 50 at School/on Safari

1 week to go.

Week 49 at School

Things are beginning to hit home that we will be leaving here soon.  Not quite to panic stations, but getting a little excited/nervous about the coming weeks.

Week 48 at School

Well my venture into the unknown buying roses certainly got a reaction.....most in disbelief.

The rains are continuing.  Last Sunday Mt Meru was covered in snow at the top, something we haven't seen before.  There was still some snow visible on Monday afternoon.

Week 47 at School

The rains are here.  It looks like the long rains have begun.  They are supposed to come in March/April, but appear to be here a little early.  We have had rain most mornings this week and this morning woke to more rain.

Week 46 at School

Being sick in Arusha is the same as in Oz.  We do have doctors, chemists and all the other medical facilities that are in Oz.  It's just a matter of finding ones you trust with equipment that is working.  I think we know most of them now.

Week 44 at School

Last week I was saying how cheap it was for telecommunications here in Tanzania, well they do have a similarity to 1st world, charge the same, but reduce what you get without notification.  When I renewed my monthly phone subscription the price was the same, but the useage limits had been reduced.

300 mins went to 200 mins
700 SMS went to 500 SMS
1GB went to 500MB (this will be the tough one)

Week 43 at School

We are both back at school for the final 7 weeks of this fantastic journey.

Megan and Carlene have gone home and now we await more visitors in the coming weeks.

Week 42 back from Kili

That right, I made it back from Mt Kilimanjaro in one piece.

Week 41 in Arusha

Happy New Year!!!!!

Yes, we are back in Arusha, but school is closed until 6 January.

What do you do when the school is closed?  Enjoy the quietness and tranquillity of the school grounds, then turn on AC/DC as it's too quiet.
