Now I'm on the
lookout for somebody to replace me. Do
you know of anybody with a Procurement background that is up for a
challenge. If so, direct them my way.
Anybody I haven't
brainwashed, it's International March for Elephants on Friday. If you haven't done so already please lend
your support.

The events in the shopping centre in Nairobi, Kenya last weekend don't seem
to have had any impact on life here in Arusha.
Apart from volunteers delaying plans to travel to Nairobi, we were
all just watching from afar like the rest of you.
If you believe the media, the
terrorist attack, was payback for Kenya's
involvement in attacks on al-Qaeda backed groups in Somalia as part of a UN
mission. Based on that, Australia is
also in trouble for it's involvement in other peace keeping missions.
Believe me, if it was
dangerous here we would be out in a flash and I wouldn't be encouraging others
to visit.
There are no guarantees in
life, but we don't believe we are in any more danger here than in Australia. Have a look at the shootings and murders in
Australia and see if that causes you concern.
Particularly on the Gold Coast. I hope this puts what is
happening into perspective.
Enough of my preaching to the converted or
uninterested.
We are thinking of fostering (no, not a
child) another elephant. They rescued a
new baby that I liked, but we will wait a month or two to see if it passes the
teething stage this time.
The weather here is quite pleasant with occasional light morning rain lately then it clears up to a sunny
day. Not too hot.
Yesterday was the AFL Grand Final and it was
shown live on the big screen in the Visitors Centre. They had a Grand Final Breakfast and the game
kicked off about 7.30am. We had 1 supporter
from each team and the rest were just AFL tragics. I worked and checked the score occasionally.
Next weekend it is the NRL Grand Final with
two teams I don't much care for. I will
probably watch it as it will be played around Sunday lunchtime.
As we get another 4 day weekend in October,
we have booked to see the gorillas and chimpanzees in Rwanda. Denise found it at the right price, so she is
doing all the bookings.
Basketball is getting a rest as the school
breaks for mid-term which means the students get to go home. I did think of going in to town yesterday afternoon, but there
was no transport back apart from taxis so I gave yesterday a miss and watched the post AFL
celebrations here instead. No, I didn't
partake.
Until next time.
