Week 39 at School/Peponi

Well we are here at Peponi Beach Resort.

For those reading the online blog, there is more if you click on the Read more>> button below.

Last weekend we had a wonderful time at Lake Chala.  We were going to walk round it again, but due to inclement weather erred on the side of dry, so instead we had breakfast then walked down to the lake for a swim.  Yes I know you are supposed to have a break between eating and swimming, but by the time we got down to the lake it was at least 1 hour since eating.  It is between 50 to 100 mtrs down and the water was quite pleasant.

The walk back up was steep but not Kokoda steep.  As it was now sunny, this was quite a warm walk and of course we didn't have sunscreen on.  Half way up one of the boys spotted what looked to be a rock shaped like a large rodent.  It was in fact a large rodent of some sort.  Not sure what.

On the way home we were pulled over for speeding by a policeman holding what looked to be a speed gun.  He said he had clocked us at 77kph in a 50kph zone.  We had no idea it was a 50kph zone and said so, but that failed.  When we said we had no money, he settled for 5,000 tsh, about AUD 3.50.  Not bad for 27kph over the limit, and no neither of us were driving.  I will protect the identity of the guilty party.

Big K's worst fear are starting to come to fruition with the trouble at the Sharks.  He received a call last night to see if he could assist, but thought it was safer for him in Africa.  Not too sure what that meant but he has even mentioned staying here when we go home.  Hello to any NRL or ASDA official reading this.

This was the last week of work for 2013 and we are now on vacation at Peponi Beach Resort.

The week at work was flat out with a few hiccups and extremely busy considering it was just me.  I am glad to make it to the end of the week.  On the way out to Smith Campus when I was having a very bad day, I saw a piki piki (motor bike) in pieces in the middle of the road and realised my day wasn't that bad after all.  Amazing what a different perspective will bring.

Just a wild out there thought.  As we are right on the beach, if you see a tsunami coming towards the African coast, please call.

As this is the last blog before Christmas, Denise and I wish you all a very merry Christmas and hope you have a fantastic New Year.

Until next time.
